Why Food Trucks and College Campuses are the Perfect Match

Posted on 10/26/2022 by FTB

Food Trucks frequently park at fairs, concerts, festivals, and big events. But what about the times when there isn't much going on? College and university campuses are among the few areas that can truly be described as being overrun by hungry individuals. Hungry college students want food that is quick, inexpensive, and easy to carry, and what is better than a Food Truck to satisfy their needs? You should consider bringing your mouthwatering, fresh, sizzling, gourmet street cuisine to college students as many of them lack the transportation to get to you

  • WHY STUDENTS?

College students require convenience in their meals because they are busier than ever and students only have a limited amount of money to spend on food. Such students can get the flexibility and portability they demand from Food Trucks on campus. Students can then contribute to building the reputation of the eating department. Additionally, colleges and universities are aware of their constraints when it comes to giving their students a variety of culinary options. And these academic institutions are concerned with maintaining student satisfaction. Many schools already have agreements in place for frequent visits from Food Trucks to their campuses. Colleges may provide the "trendy" food options that today's students seek by using Food Trucks. Some students desire or need gluten-free, vegetarian, paleo, and vegan dining alternatives, therefore this is a less expensive approach to include them.

    WHY STUDENTS?
  • FRATERNITIES AND SORORITIES

Fraternities and sororities are always thinking of new ways to improve their parties. What better way to prepare for their upcoming event than to bring in a Food Truck? The fact that fraternities and sororities haven't considered it yet may be the only thing stopping them from bringing in a Food Truck. You must thus present them with the notion. Contact the local fraternity and sorority. It's worth a shot and given how well food and parties mix, it's probable that they'll be enthusiastic about the chance.

  • EVENTS

Maybe the campuses won't allow you to have your fixed day and a fixed time to park on their grounds. Another option would be to partner with colleges and universities for big events. Colleges and universities host many events during the year. Think of career days, parties, information evenings, open houses, and sports events. The institutions need someone to provide for their hungry visitors. If you are already in contact with a college or university, offer your Food Truck as a solution to their problems.

  • ALTERNATIVE: GET AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN

Okay, and what if the institutions don't want to partner with you for big events and won't allow you to set up your Food Truck there? Get as near as you can to campus! The closest you can get to being on a college campus, as long as you're legally parked, is to pitch up camp directly next to one. If you are close by and accessible on foot, word will spread rapidly and a large number of students will still show up.
