All Participants must have products, services, exhibitions, or performances related to Japan, Japanese culture, Japanese food, or cherry blossoms.

Volunteers are provided with snacks, a piece of Festival merch to take home, and can receive community service hours. Local school, scout, church/synagogue/temple, community and meetup groups are more than welcome to volunteer as a group.
Cosplay Contest applications tend to open in January or February and close no later than one-week before the Festival. Information about the Cosplay Contest and the application when it opens can be found here:

We encourage all cosplayers to wear their family-friendly costumes to the Festival, even if you are not a contestant. However, we require all cosplayers at the Festival to NOT dress in realistic military gear nor wear a mask that completely covers your face. Traditional Japanese clothing such as kimono and yukata are also highly encouraged.
